Who We Are
KALO Education was created to meet a critical moment in education and workforce development—and to prepare for what comes next.
KALO was founded by Kareem Hogan and Lonnie Harris, two industry and academic professionals who collectively bring more than 50 years of experience working with Fortune 100 companies and over 15 years of teaching college-level STEM disciplines, including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and robotics.
Through their careers in industry and higher education, the founders repeatedly saw the same challenge: learners were eager to enter high-demand technology fields, employers struggled to find job-ready talent, and traditional education pathways were not keeping pace with rapid workforce change. These challenges were not theoretical—they affected students, colleagues, neighbors, and communities navigating layoffs, reskilling, and career transitions.
KALO was formed to close this gap by intentionally aligning education, industry, and community into practical, workforce-ready pathways. As emerging technologies continue to reshape how we live, work, and protect our digital world, the demand for skilled, adaptable, and mission-driven talent has never been greater. KALO exists to bridge the gap between learning and real-world impact by aligning education, industry, and community into intentional, scalable pathways.
